TAB Nashville

Hunter Atkins became a certified TAB board facilitator in 2017 having been a TAB member for 12 years. He has always maintained an interest in business strategy, communication and execution and the inherent challenges of each, regardless of the size of the entity. He has found that “moving to the head of the table” has been a most natural and rewarding step in his TAB journey.

Hunter serves currently as Chairman of the Board of The Bank of Nashville where he was CEO for ten years. He orchestrated the sale of the bank (a publicly -held OTC institution) to Synovus (NYSE:SNV), its owner today. Prior to this, Hunter served as City President of AmSouth Bank and as an EVP with Commerce Union Bank (now Bank of America) in Nashville. His responsibilities at Commence Union included the International, Commercial, Special Assets, Private Banking and Investment Divisions.

Hunter’s personal business ownership experiences include oil and gas, film, health care start -ups, restaurants, spirits, patents and construction. He has been a guest lecturer at Belmont University, University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Cumberland University and the Owen School at Vanderbilt. He has served on many not -for-profit boards and most notably Chaired the national board of Family Service America (now The Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, the largest family and child serving group in the U.S.). Hunter holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt with continuing education degrees from The University of Texas Petroleum Institute (Energy) and The University of Virginia (International Finance).

Kevin Kirkpatrick is a solutions-focused Senior Executive and Board Member with more than 25 years of success across the healthcare and higher education industries where he leverages entrepreneurship, innovation and strategic planning experience. 

He is a valuable advisor to organizations and entrepreneurs who are launching and growing ventures. He incubated a company and raised $30MM in Venture Capital funding from top firms to scale it. He is also an ongoing advisor for companies who are participating in programs at the Nashville Entrepreneurship Center.

His broad areas of expertise include entrepreneurship, business planning, innovation, account management, fundraising, startups, and strategy.

Throughout his executive career, Kevin has held leadership positions in organizations where his responsibilities have spanned across the domains of finance, operations, strategy, culture, and business development. His broad scale experience includes innovating and starting companies, scaling them into the middle market and running more mature public operations with revenues over $150MM.

He thrives in problem solving by evaluating assumption sets and incentives from alternative angles, coming up with potential solutions, testing rapidly at small scale and then hardening the solution for broader commercialization.

He holds an Economics degree from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the Jack C. Massey School of Business at Belmont University. He has also taught Economics, Strategy and Entrepreneurship at his Alma Maters. He is a passionate builder who enjoys growing leaders and organizations. He lives in Franklin, TN with his wife and two sons.
