Russell Stern is the owner of The Alternative Board (TAB) Jupiter. Florida’s excellent business climate, great weather, and outdoor lifestyle have attracted many new small businesses. Joining a TAB board is an unparalleled and effective way for business owners to collaborate, solve business problems, and grow their business while maintaining a well-balanced lifestyle.
Russell has over 35 years of experience as an executive. He has developed and practiced effective techniques and skills to solve a wide variety of business problems in engineering, operations, marketing, I.T., human resources and sales by distilling and simplifying issues with a clear and common-sense approach to the solution. Russell has successfully applied these skills in various CEO, COO, and VP positions from Fortune 500 companies to venture backed startups. Most recently, he was the CEO of Solarflare Communications in Irvine, CA, a developer of high-speed communications semiconductors and software used in electronic trading applications. Russell executed a successful acquisition of the company by Xilinx (now AMD) for $400m.
Russell has a deep and broad understanding of business, directly leading or presiding over every company function. He has extensive management skills training beginning with IBM and continuing throughout his career, later conducting many management and quality systems courses himself. Russell is an accomplished public speaker and has been a guest speaker at tech conferences and various government symposiums on the security of the U.S. semiconductor industry. He has served on the board of directors of both public companies and private companies, often serving as a performance coach to the CEO and their executives.
Russell most enjoys the growth in the people he coaches, taking pride in over ten former employees going on to be successful CEOs themselves. As a TAB facilitator and coach, he strives to empower and inspire business owners and their staff to exceed their own expectations and vastly improve their quality of life.
